Besides using the alt code, you can also use the Unicode delta symbol to paste into Microsoft Word. The Unicode method only works for Word.
The Unicode delta symbol is0394.
Below are the steps to type the delta symbol on your keyboard (using Unicode):

- Enter the alt code (0394)
- then pressAlt+Xto convert the code to a delta symbol.
As simple as that.

Using word autocorrect to write the delta symbol
Another way to get thatDelta-Symboldone using the AutoCorrect feature in Word.
It is a tool for correcting spelling mistakes such astheProis.
This feature allows you to assign a shortcode to thatDelta-Symbol(such asDELTASIMA).
This way every time you type the textDELTASIMA, Word will think you really wanted to typeDand i will turn it intoDelta-Symbolautomatically.

What makes this approach interesting is that you can assign any code you want to the symbol, and Word will be happy to provide it for you when you write the code.
Without further ado, here are the steps you can take to start writingDelta-Symbolin Word with AutoCorrect.
- On the Insert tab, clickSymboland then clickMore symbols...
ÖSymboldialog box appears.

- find theDelta-Symbol, and then click to select it.
- click noAutomatic correction...to display the AutoCorrect dialog box.
In the AutoCorrect dialog box, type:
- Substitute:DELTASIMA
- Order:D

- CliqueAdd to, and then click OK.
Word inserts them automaticallyDelta-Symbolin your document every time you typeDELTASIM.
However, here are a few things to keep in mind when using the AutoCorrect method to pasteDelta-Signal.
- Autocorrect is case-sensitive. meaning when you writedeltasim(in lowercase), Word doesn't convert it toDelta-Symbolunless I writeDELTASIMA(in capital letters).
- If there is text before or after the AutoCorrect text, Word considers the AutoCorrect text to be part of the text and therefore doesn't convert it to text.Delta-Symbol. For example,XDELTASYMbut will not convertX DELTASIMAis converted toXDD.
Use of symbol font
There is a font named Symbol in the Microsoft font list.
This font consists of a complete Greek alphabet without accents and a selection of commonly used mathematical symbols.
If you write in the English alphabet with this font, they will be converted to the Greek alphabet.
Since the delta symbol is the fourth letter of the Greek alphabet, typing the fourth letter (D) of the English alphabet yields the delta symbol.
D (in English) = Delta (Δ) (in Greek)
This means if you highlight the symbol font and apply it to the letter D, it will become a delta symbol.

NOTE: You should only consider using the symbol font approach to insert the delta symbol when preparing your document for printing. Do not use this method when posting online or copying and pasting content into another document or software. Where you want to paste, the symbol's font may not be recognized, and you can paste the letter D instead of Δ (delta symbol).
